There are many ways you can go green, especially when it comes to your office. You can reduce the amount of paper you use and change to energy-saving light bulbs, but there’s plenty of ways you can reduce energy costs at your Bend apartments too.
One of the easiest ways to save on energy costs is to seal all the air leaks around your windows and doors.
Even the most well-fitted windows can develop hairline cracks over time, and you may not be able to see them. You may not be able to feel them either, but even the smallest crack can let cool air escape outside in the summer. To solve this problem, go around the outside of each window with some caulk. Seal both the exterior and interior of each one.
Your windows aren’t the only things that can cause energy costs to increase. Doors can also leak air. The solution this time isn’t to caulk them. Instead, consider installing storm doors on exterior doors. They are a great way to protect against the wind.
Even if you can’t install a storm door, you should at least install a door sweep. They can keep warm air inside in the winter and cool air inside in the summer. They’re easy to install too!
