It’s a good sign when prospective tenants ask questions. It shows that they’re invested in the possibility of moving into your property, but sometimes you might wish there weren’t so many to answer. Especially if they’re asking uncomfortable questions!
Here are a few uncomfortable questions that are asked, and how you can answer them.
Have others shown interest in the property?
This is an especially uncomfortable question, but it’s understandable why a prospective tenant would ask. Fortunately, there’s an easy way to answer it.
Simply say that you’re fielding multiple inquiries into the property. Chances are, you’ve spoken to at least one other person about the property, or you can at least see that your page is being viewed. Even if they truly are the first, you don’t want to give them the impression that they have all the time in the world to make a decision.
Do you allow exotic pets?
You’ve probably already figured out how you feel about dogs and cats, but what about birds? Or iguanas?
Make sure you have a plan so you can answer this question when it comes up. If you don’t have one, ask them about their pet. Don’t be afraid to say you’ll provide them with an answer within 24 hours.
